So, I'm in a slump. I need a slump-buster. Or a beer. The way my luck has turned lately, that beer will be warm, however.

Flip-Flops

Did you know that flip-flops do not give the best foot-arch support? After wearing nothing but fli-flops all last week, my toes and feet are killing me. There has to be a sandal out there that offers the correct amount of comfort and arch support one needs while enjoying a hot summer day.

Girls in Bikinis

I've decided I don't have enough pictures of girls in bikinis on my office wall. My goal is to make my office look like my dorm room. To make it match, I just have to find that Jenny McCarthy swimsuit poster from 15 years ago. (15 years ago! Egads!)

Gambling

I'm going to Ho Chunk Casino in Black River Falls today. We're giving away some things, Rockfest related and otherwise. But that's not the important thing. What is important: should I place a year's worth of mortgage payments on red, or black? Perhaps even or odd. Tough choices, man.

Living Room Camp Out

Camped out in my living room last night. It's difficult falling asleep when your wife has "Twilight: Breaking Dawn" blaring on the TV. From what I gathered, the stoner-looking chick got married to the sparkly vampire. The werewolf guy who has a crush on stoner chick didn't want her to have sex with sparkly vampire because of the possible dangers of giving birth to demon vampire spawn...something to the effect that it could kill her. Then there was sex...but it was Christian book/movie sex, so there was nowhere close to enough nudity. This was fine, because I don't think anyone wants to see the stoner chick naked, anyhow. Then there was a fight scene, and a car crash, and that's it. End scene.
There needed to be more explosions, car chase scenes, dramatic camera movements, and random nudity that didn't propel the plot. And a meteor strike. Yeah, meteors.

Jim Furyk

Yesterday, I saw a woman who looked like Jim Furyk. A quick Google search will show you who Jim Furyk is (I don't own any images of him...and I'm not about to be that guy who breaks some photographer's copyright restrictions). Anyhow, I don't know what was scarier: her, or the fact that I instantly thought of Jim Furyk when I saw her.

Meatloaf...

...is a fantastic artist. You know, most of the best songs every written never make it to the radio. Much of what you hear on the air are songs that "test well" with a certain audience of a certain demographic that a radio station tries to reach. In other words, songs that tend not to illicit negative feelings, but at the same time don't turn a listener into a raving lunatic filled with joy and excitement. Somewhere in the middle, that's where you get a good radio song. Being too vanilla is never a problem. A song that has "something different", however, never makes it to the air. It also helps if you're attractive. Physical looks should have no say on whether or not a song becomes a hit, but that's not how it goes.
So, Meatloaf is a fantastic artist. Most of his best songs don't fit the stereotypical ...

Some People

Some people are forever happy. Minnesota Twins: Lucky to get to 70 wins this year
Milwaukee Brewers: 85 wins, which just might win them the division
Chicago Cubs: Lucky that the Astros are still in the National League Central. Otherwise, they'd finish last in the division.
Of note, I am a Cubs fan. They will win. And it will be soon. Just not this year. The Brewers will win more games than one would think after losing the 2nd best first baseman in the game. And the Twins...well, they have a nice stadium.
