--Green Day Cancels Voodoo Performance, Bassist Talks Armstrong's Meltdown

It turns out Green Day won't be heading to the Big Easy this month.  The band announced on Monday that they've pulled out of their scheduled October 27th performance at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience following frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's recent onstage meltdown and trip to rehab.  The news coincides with Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt's discussion with BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe about Armstrong's recent troubles.  Dirnt says the trio has scratched "everything" from their schedule books over the next few weeks, explaining that they "had to put the life of [their] friend in front of everything."  Armstrong checked himself in to a clinic for substance abuse treatment shortly after launching into an angry tirade at the end of Green Day's iHeartRadio Music Festival gig last month in Las Vegas.

Dirnt says that in hindsight, it's easy to see that the build-up to and release of their latest album, "iUno!" was a "tremendous undertaking."  He compares it to jumping off a moving train, and adds that "there were signs of things hitting the fan" before they took the stage in Las Vegas.  As for Armstrong's current condition, Dirnt explains that he hasn't seen him "in weeks" since the singer has been spending all his time in rehab or with family.  He adds that this is the longest time they've spent away from each other in the past 20 years, but still insists the band will be ready for "the next phase."  Part two of Green Day's album trilogy, "iDos!," is due out November 13th.


--Green Day Release Track Listing For Upcoming Album "iDos!"

In spite of their frontman's recent trip to rehab, Green Day is prepping for the release of the second part of their album trilogy "iDos!"  The group has released the upcoming album's track list, and the titles indicate that it will pick up right where the first left off.  Some of the tracks are called "Wild One," "Makeout Party," "Wow! That's Loud" and "Nightlife."  There will be a total of 13 songs on the album, whose cover this time features bassist Mike Dirnt [[ dernt ]].  "iDos!" is slated to drop on November 13th.

Green Day also recently dropped a music video for the "iUno!" song "Troublemaker."  It appears to be made up of the footage compiled from the pair of upcoming documentaries, a project that the group announced in June.  According to "Billboard," the two documentaries will chronicle the making of the album trilogy.  In late September, it was announced that Billie Joe Armstrong was seeking treatment for substance abuse after he launched an onstage rant and smashed his guitar at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.  Earlier that month, the group also cancelled a show in Italy citing Armstrong's bout with  "severe dehydration."

--Billie Joe Armstrong, Rob Thomas Join "The Voice"

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas are making their "Voice" debuts this week.  Both rockers' showed off their new roles as celebrity mentors on Monday's episode of the NBC singing competition, with Armstrong helping out Christina Aguilera's team, and Thomas offering advice to Cee Lo Green's team.  As the contestants prepared for the Battle Rounds, Rob encouraged Peruvian singer Diego Val to really buckle down and learn his part of Rick Springfield's hit "Jesse's Girl," which might have been just the push he needed as Diego impressed Cee Lo so much that the coach put him through to the next round.  Likewise, Armstrong helped Team Christina's De'Borah and Nelly's Echo gain the confidence to put on a performance that the Green Day singer said may have been one of the best of the night.  In the end, De'Borah -- who said "American Idiot" was a monumental album in her life -- came out on top.

Armstrong and Thomas return to "The Voice" tonight, along with fellow guest mentors Michael Bublé and Mary J. Blige.  The second set of Battle Rounds get under way at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on NBC.


--Daughtry, 3 Doors Down Announce Co-Headlining Tour

Daughtry and 3 Doors Down are teaming up to bring their own brand of rock across the country next month.  The two acts have announced plans to embark on a 19-city, co-headlining U.S. tour, starting November 17th in 3 Doors Down's home state of Mississippi.  The trek -- which is so far scheduled to run through December 15th -- will also feature P.O.D. as the opening act on select dates.  Daughtry frontman Chris Daughtry calls it an honor to be hitting the road with 3 Doors Down, adding that they're "excited to give fans an energetic rock show every night."

Daughtry will be supporting last year's release "Break the Spell," while 3 Doors Down will be out performing songs from their upcoming greatest hits package.  The collection -- which will include three new songs -- is due out shortly after the tour gets under way.

--Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page Casts Doubts On Another Reunion

Jimmy Page is cautioning Led Zeppelin fans from drawing any conclusions from the band's upcoming DVD "Celebration Day."  He says tells "Rolling Stone" that the 2007 reunion concert was "a serious test" for the group and they all "passed it," proving they still had "an extraordinary communion on the stage."  But the guitarist adds that the concert film is "a testament" to what they did five years ago, not a prelude of things to come.  Regarding additional Zeppelin reunion shows, Page admits he doesn't "see it."  He explains that they'd "already be talking about them" if the group was going to play more shows.  

"Celebration Day" documents Led Zeppelin's critically acclaimed headlining performance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert in London in December 2007.  The film will receive a big screen presentation at participating theaters on October 17th after several premiere events.  The movie will be released in a variety audio and video formats on November 19th.


--Gene Simmons Compares KISS To The Beatles

Gene Simmons says KISS "really was designed to be The Beatles on steroids," and that's evident on the band's new album, "Monster.  The bassist tells Billboard.com that The Beatles were different from groups like the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin in that there were no designated roles like lead singer or guitarist but "everybody in the band sang."  Simmons says KISS is the same way -- four guys who can write and sing -- and on "Monster" everyone in KISS has a lead vocal and collaborated on the material.  Simmons adds that the group modeled the songs on "Monster" after The Beatles' "verse-chours-verse" format.  He also admits writing occasionally felt like "putting together Frankenstein's monster."  Gene explains that they sometimes tore songs apart, and took a section written for one track and added it to another one.  But Simmons says that process isn't unique to "Monster."  He recalls it's also how he and Paul Stanley wrote the classic hit "Rock and Roll All Night."

"Monster" is KISS' follow up to their 2009 effort, "Sonic Boom."  The disc features the single "Hell or Hallelujah" along with "All For The Love Of Rock and Roll" and "Long Way Down" -- two tracks the band previewed online last week.  "Monster" arrives in stores Tuesday.  KISS will appear on CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday in support of the album.


--Coheed And Cambria Release First Half Of Double Album Today

The "Amory Wars" continue as Coheed and Cambria's new album "The Afterman: Ascension" arrives in stores today.  The latest set is the prog-rockers' sixth studio album, and the latest entry in their career-long sci-fi saga.  "Ascension" is also the first part of a double album that will be completed when "The Afterman: Descension" comes out in February 2013.  Meanwhile, fans can also pick up the deluxe edition of "Ascension," which comes with unreleased demos, an "On the Road" documentary on DVD, and a hardcover book covering the entire Amory Wars storyline that all of Coheed and Cambria's albums follow.  Fans can get more information at CoheedAndCambria.com.


--Jack Osbourne, Lisa Stelly Marry In Hawaii

The Osbournes have gained an in-law.  The former MTV reality family are welcoming Lisa Stelly into the fold.  She's Jack Osbourne's new wife.  "Us Weekly" says the 26-year-old son of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and TV personality Sharon Osbourne exchanged vows with Stelly during an intimate Hawaiian ceremony on Sunday.  Jack and Lisa welcomed daughter Pearl in April, about seven months after they announced their engagement late last year.  Jack also made headlines in June when he revealed he had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  

During an appearance on his mom's talk show "The Talk" shortly after the diagnosis, Jack and Lisa expressed optimism that they would be fine despite the setback.  Stelly said, "we don't really have much time to be sad, because we have diapers to change and a little girl to look at and smile at."
