--Guns N' Roses Added To New York's Governors Ball Lineup

The "mystery headliner" for this year's Governors Ball has been identified.  Organizers behind the New York music festival announced Thursday that Guns N' Roses will be filling the third spot at the top of the bill, along with previously announced headliners Kings of Leon and Kanye West.  The Governors Ball is scheduled to take place June 7th through the 9th, and will mark GNR's first major U.S. performance since the band ended their Las Vegas residency last fall.  In the meantime, Axl Rose and company will head Down Under for a short tour of Australia with ZZ Top next month.  As for the rest of the Governors Ball participants, the Avett Brothers, Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Japandroids, the Dirty Projectors and many others are all slated to appear at the Randall's Island gig.  The full lineup and tickets are available now at GovernorsBallMusicFestival.com.


--Report: Marilyn Manson's Onstage Collapse Caused By Flu

Marilyn Manson fans can rest assured that the rocker should be fine after getting a little rest himself.  Manson collapsed onstage during a concert in Canada Wednesday night, and now sources tell TMZ.com the incident was caused by a bad case of the flu.  The sources explain that Manson was feeling bad all day, but didn't want to cancel the Saskatoon gig.  Unfortunately, Manson only felt worse once he got onstage and reportedly vomited multiple times during the show.  About an hour into the performance, fans saw Manson "keel over" in the middle of his hit "The Beautiful People."  TMZ says Manson did not go to the hospital, but instead went back to his hotel room to rest.  He reportedly still feels "drained," but is determined to get back to work in time for his next tour stop in Calgary Friday night.


--San Francisco Giants To Host "Metallica Night" This Spring

Metallica is being honored by their hometown baseball team.  The San Francisco Giants will host Metallica Night at AT&T Park on May 3rd.  Band members will be on hand for the occasion, and take part in special pre-game events.  They're slated to perform the national anthem at the start of the game, and toss out the ceremonial first pitch.  The Giants' flyer for the event also says ticketholders will receive a "special-edition Metallica Giants hat," and there'll be "Metallica entertainment features throughout the game."  The Giants will be facing off against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the field, and Metallica actually has ties to both cities.  The group was formed in L.A., but are now based in the Bay Area.


--Vedder, Morello, Mumfords To Honor Springsteen At Tonight's MusiCares Gala

Eddie Vedder, Tom Morello and Mumford and Sons will be saluting "The Boss" tonight.  They're all set to take part in this year's MusiCares Person of the Year gala, which is honoring Bruce Springsteen.  "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart will host the event, while Alabama Shakes, Ben Harper, Neil Young, and many more are also slated to perform.  The 23rd MusiCares Person of the Year celebration will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Springsteen and many of the MusiCares performers will reconvene down the road at the Staples Center on Sunday for the 55th annual Grammy Awards.  That ceremony will air live on CBS starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.


--Bon Jovi Launching Tour This Weekend

Bon Jovi will be launching their tour this weekend.  The group will kick off their "Because We Can" trek with a show in Uncasville, Connecticut Saturday night.  The first North American leg of the trek runs 34 dates, and will come to a close in San Jose, California on April 25th.  Bon Jovi will then head overseas to play two shows in South Africa before launching the European portion of the tour in Bulgaria on May 14th.  The band also has a handful of summer stadium dates scheduled once they return to the U.S.  Bon Jovi is touring behind their upcoming album, "What About Now?" which will be in stores on March 12th.  The tour is named for the disc's lead-off single, "Because We Can," which is available now.

--Bob Seger Adds More Dates To Upcoming Tour

Bob Seger continues to fill out his schedule.  The rocker and his Silver Bullet Band have added another eight stops to their upcoming "2013 Rock and Roll Never Forgets Tour," which has now grown to 19 dates.  The trek includes two concerts with Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band.  The groups will co-headline a show in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 15th, and perform together in Fargo, North Dakota on March 16th.  As it stands the tour is slated to come to a close in New York on April 16th.  Seger will launch his "Rock and Roll Never Forgets Tour" with a two-night stand in Toledo, Ohio on February 27th and March 1st.


--Elton John Talks QOTSA Collaboration With Dave Grohl

Queens of the Stone Age have added another collaborator to the mix.  Elton John revealed on Wednesday's "Chelsea Lately" that he recently recorded a track with the band for their forthcoming album.  John told "Lately" guest host Dave Grohl -- who's playing drums on the new Queens record -- that he's always up for collaborations that may seem odd on the surface, but people usually assume he's only interested in certain genres. John says the song he worked on was "great," but also "very complicated."  He explains that guitar bands and pianists don't always blend very easily.  Nevertheless, John says the three-hour session ultimately produced something amazing.

Grohl was equally excited about the collaboration and says he told everyone he could about the session.  But when the time to record finally came, he says he and his drums were tucked away in a closet, so he didn't actually get to see John while they were all playing together.  The new Queens of the Stone Age album -- which also features contributions from Trent Reznor and Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears -- is expected out later this year.


--Fun., Mumfords, Black Keys Among Weekend's Grammy Leaders

Fun., Mumford and Sons, and Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach are heading into this weekend's Grammy Awards as some of the evening's biggest contenders.  All three are part of a group of six acts who lead the pack with six nominations this year.  Fun.'s "Some Nights," the Mumfords' "Babel," and the Keys' "El Camino" will face off in the Album of the Year category along with Jack White's "Blunderbuss" and Frank Ocean's "Channel Orange."  The three groups will also go up against each other in the Record of the Year race.  

Bruce Springsteen , the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year is a three-time nominee heading into the Grammys.  His most recent studio effort with the E Street Band, "Wrecking Ball," is in the running for Best Rock Album, while the track "We Take Care Of Our Own" is up for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.  Other nominees for the upcoming ceremony include Paul McCartney, who has two chances to win, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Dr. John, U2, The Beach Boys, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and Megadeth.

The Grammys will be handed out this Sunday during a ceremony at Los Angeles' Staples Center.  The event will also feature a slew of big name performances from fun., Mumford and Sons, the Black Keys, the Lumineers, Ed Sheeran and Elton John, Maroon 5, Jack White and others.  Music fans can catch all the action live on CBS starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
