--System Of A Down Bassist: Frontman Holding Up New Album
It turns out System of a Down's Shavo Odadjian is just as upset about the band's lack of new music as the fans. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the bassist accuses frontman Serj Tankian of holding the rest of the band back. Shavo says he's "furious" the singer is preventing them from putting out a new System of a Down album, and even asks fans if they'd rather see Serj replaced by someone who is "just as good if not better." However, a later statement on System of a Down's official Facebook page says Shavo's comments don't reflect the sentiments of the band as a whole. And while they admit there is still no timetable for a new album, they explain that the only way to be true to the band and their fans is to ...

--Slash, Mark McGrath, Others Mourn Ray Manzarek On Twitter
Slash says he's having trouble finding the words to express his feelings following the death of the Doors' Ray Manzarek. Nevertheless, the guitarist was one of many rockers who took to Twitter Monday to mourn the legendary keyboardist. Slash says Manzarek and the Doors represent the sound of Los Angeles to him, adding that they were one of the first bands he remembers hearing when he moved from England to L.A. Slash's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Matt Sorum tweeted that Manzarek was a "genius," and says he feels honored to have had the chance to know him and play with him. Likewise, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath called his onstage moment with Manzarek a "highlight and a blessing."
Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Weird Al Yankovic, and actor Elijah Wood are just a few of the other stars thanking Ray for ...

--Kid Rock Calls Out Lip Syncers, Gotye Wins At Billboard Awards
Kid Rock didn't take the stage to perform at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards, but he still made sure everyone at the event knew exactly how he felt about those who did saying quote "Let's give it up for people lip syncing over pre-recorded music!" Rock was actually there to present the award for Top Rap Song.
The Billboard Music Awards also featured a slew of big-name performances. Ed Sheeran took the stage at Las Vegas' MGM Grand, as did Prince, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and many, many more. The event was hosted by Tracy Morgan, and broadcast live on ABC.

--Rock Hall Highlights Airing This Weekend On HBO
Anyone who didn't see Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame homage to Rush in person will get another chance this weekend. A highlight special from last month's induction ceremony is scheduled to air Saturday night on HBO. The event included Grohl and Hawkins' induction of Rush, as well as their performance of the instrumental intro to the prog rockers' "2112." The Foo Fighters bandmates had some fun with the gig, sporting kimonos similar to the ones Rush used to wear. Grohl later told "Rolling Stone" that the entire experience was "one of the most special nights of [his] life," even though using a wah-wah pedal in platform shoes turned out to be a little harder than he thought.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2013 also included Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Albert King, ...

--Black Sabbath Featured In "CSI" Season Finale
Black Sabbath is even using a fictional setting to promote their upcoming album, "13." The band made a guest appearance on Wednesday night's season finale of CBS' "CSI." In addition to performing on the show, frontman Ozzy Osbourne was also featured in another scene, which included a humorous exchange between the rocker and reporter John Merchiston, played by actor James Callis.
The scene was part of a post-concert interview, in which Ozzy also discussed the new Black Sabbath album. He described "13" as having a "modern sound" while retaining "the Black Sabbath vibe." The disc will be in stores on June 11th. But Sabbath fans who tuned in late probably missed the group. The band was only in the show's first two-and-a-half minutes, which opened with the Black Sabbath concert featuring the premiere of the new song "End of the Beginning."
